OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leoprd is very old and I, FINALLY, saw the handwriting on wall and last January 2016, I moved on to to both OS X 10.8.5 Mountain Lion AND OS X 10.9.5 Mavericks. I am in a similar situation as you as I am using a LOT of older, legacy software.

So, you CAN dedide to keep using the last released version of the Firefox ESR once support ends in April OR dedide to upgrade your OS X and any software that you are using. The only web browser support left on OS X 10.8.5 Mountain Lion is the Waterfox web browser. There are no other web browser options for 10.6.8 after April. Mozilla is supporting this Firefox ESR for 10.6.8-10.8.5 until sometime in April 2017. Ignore all of the enterprise, organaisations and educational notes. This version of Firefox has been regularly updated for security release updates, but this version has NOT received any NEW FEATURE updates.
If you find this is NOT possible, there are cheaper alternatives to Adobe software.įor OS X 10.6.8, your only option for a secure web browser is the Mozilla Firefox ESR 45.x found here. So, if you need to upgrade your OS X, you are going to need to upgrade your Adobe apps. I got this awhile ago, just before pricing for older Adobe CS version packages starting to get out of control. I was lucky enough to find an upgrade version of the Adobe CS4 Design Premium that was, pretty much dirt cheap and works and was from a legal online from Amazon.
You would either have to start subscribing/"conscribing"/renting Adobe CC apps (if you decide to upgrade your OS X) or try and find an older version of Adobe CS either CS 4, 5 or 6, that all still run on OS X El Capitán, which could get expensive from third party sellers as the price of the non-subscription Adobe CS packages has, basically, skyrocketed due to demand and from Adobe users, like me, who absolutely refuse to monthly rent software that I will never own. Support for Adobe CS2 ended, basically, at OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard.
